Adhesion Promoters
Coupling agents or more commonly known as “Adhesion Promoters” use specially selected bi-functional chemistries to create adhesive bonds between surfaces and other films or materials. There are a number of chemicals which can be selected to achieve the desired results. Many of these films have functional terminations which are considered reactive (i.e. a carboxylic acid, amine, aldehyde, epoxy, methacrylate, etc.).
IST’s unique vapor-phase application of adhesion films results in superior smoothness and stability compared with a liquid prepared by Langmuir Blodgett techniques.
IST’s vapor application also eliminates run-to-run variability as a result of humidity and the complete elimination of any solvent waste stream saving money and the environment.
